Color concepts. Have to say, I'm not really good with colors. And I avoid CG because it takes a long time since I suck at it.

I don't know why but traditional watercolor soothes me... it's like a warm cup of hot chocolate.

[2nd Year] Painting #1 - Exterior

This was done in the beginning of the 2nd year. I just didn't get a chance to scan these until now (but it's not like I have so much time right now ...)

Anyhow, an exterior project. Starting with 3 grayscale studies.

Since I find myself lacking in colour, I did mini colour studies with colour pencils before I actually do colour keys with gouache so I can test with various colours without worrying about making mistakes.

Here are 2 character colour change studies that I did

The first colour scheme is the one that I like; soft airbrush shadows and light body outline (specifically, the "Lion King" style)

The second one looks too murky and dead... although it is more suitable for the "drunk and dirty" pirate look...
